Meow, Woof, Neigh, Bloop, Roar, Trumpet, Screech…

This page and subsequent attachments has to do with anything that pertains to animals. While I admit I am not a vegetarian, (I am alas, a carnivore) I still feel that animals deserve more respect for what they give us be it love and affection or sustenance and neither of these should be taken for granted. Animals deserve our respect and reverence. Animals teach and offer a lot to us small minded humans. Did you know that mice DNA is eerily similar to our own which is why they use them so often to test new medicines. While I don’t like this practice, I regard it as a necessary evil if we are to create medicinal breakthroughs for the humans that need them. Nonetheless, I feel that animals should be treated with respect and kindness for the sacrifice they make for us.

OH, I don’t like fur coats unless you live in Siberia type conditions and need fur for protection. BUT I don’t run around throwing paint either. That’s a waste of time and does not a lot of good except to irritate people and allow them to discount your feelings as that of a kook.

I don’t believe in hunting unless you are going to eat the meat. Did you know that many bass fisherman make a regular practice of catch and release? And that Bass fisherman are very political in terms of lobbing to keep our streams and waterways clean and safe? Very political are our bass fisherman.

It makes me crazy when people bring a puppy into the home and realize suddenly what a commitment it is…and they give the pup up for adoption or just dump it. Same thing with birds, for example, parrots. Parrots need a lot of attention and if you leave them for any length of time can become very sad and unhappy, moody or depressed. Many pet owners don’t know how attached and even dependent these birds can be and the owners end up with more than they bargain for. Ultimately the bird suffers for it.

And don;t get me started on breeders. I know, there are many reputable ones out there, but in my experience mutts are the best! Some breeds cost thousands of dollars to purchase! It always amazes me when you see people giving up a dog they have paid thousands for. What are these people thinking?

Circuses. That’s another one. I always want the elephant to step on the ring master for making him do all those silly tricks. I always want the horses to run away out of the ring, the lion to bite the stupid man who was dumb enough to put his head in the big cat’s mouth. I HATE CIRCUSES except the Cirque du Soleil where there are no animals. only humans do the tricks.
